about your senior instructor ...
Bill Uhl's riding career began as a six-year old motorcyclist. They say he was a passionate rider even though his feet barely touched the foot pegs. You may already feel the same. If not, he can certainly help!
Don't miss the chance for Bill Uhl to teach you how to ride, and enjoy riding, like one of the most accomplished off-road trail riders in the world.
In over 28 years of professional competition, he won truckloads of trophies in Observed Trials, Motocross, Class C, and all types of long distance racing in some of the most rugged terrain around the world. He won six gold medals for the U.S. during the International Six Day Trials/Enduros (the Olympics of Motorcycling). As the top U.S. competitor at the first Six Days Trials in the U.S., Bill was awarded the prestigious Count Lurani Trophy. as part of the "All Star Awards" program and based on rave reviews by fans. Motorcycle Magazine previously named Bill "Enduro Rider of the Year." His previous management of a motocross school and his impressive abilities to snowmobile safely in isolated areas with harsh weather conditions have won acclaim from his peers.
Bill's second greatest love is building trails, so when he isn't teaching, he is designing and maintaining trails that OHV enthusiasts love to ride. As a lifelong advocate for multiple use, he also uses his leadership status to ensure that the trails remain open for everyone to enjoy. Bill planted the seed at Idaho State Parks and Recreation that started the successful State Trail Ranger program. In fact, he was the first Trail Ranger in the state. Bill is also a Master Tread Trainer for the national Tread Lightly!® program which teaches people how to recreate responsibily.
Bill's vast experience has led to a treasure trove of secrets that he shares with OHV Training™ students. He has applied his broad base of experience and skills to training employees to be safe and efficient ... ensuring that OHVs are used as effective tools on the job. In addition, he has taught individuals across America - from kids to older adults - to safely enjoy their favorite sports.
